NAMM 2016, who's going? What's on the radar?

Teenage engineering instagram:
The stickers on the OP-1 spell out "OP-2" left to right or am I dreaming.

Very clever ! Yes indeed !

technically they spell “OP B” if you only go by the scribbles on the paper…

…or is it PO-2? They both have Os and Ps…

I’m getting a sync feeling ,between OP-1 and POs.
Metronome and drum mode ,plus a sync page? Help key?

Roland Saturn 6 analog polysynth.

Teenage Engineering will be there, and I’ll be there with my camera!

I’ll be hanging out with Haken Audio at their booth in 5014, and help them demo the Continuum and raise awareness of their amazing synth.

It’s a hoax(I’ve read elsewhere).
Roland coming through with a bit of a tease though!

haha,

That is pretty Cool.
Hi Cuckoo - Great job on all of your tutorials, live workshops & music video remixes. Looking forward to your NAMM 2016 coverage! Have you checked out Social Entropy Engine sequencer?

Guess it was introduced last year but only recently available to the public. I especially like the 2 midi out ports and polyphonic sequencing!! Definitely on my radar as well as dominion 1:)

Cheers!

Do you guys think this would be an excellent companion sequencer for the OP-1? I have some elektrons (A4, RYTM) and would like to sequence the OP-1 and sequence it with the elektrons… Im also wondering if it could record the op-1 parameter changes into the sequence? I don’t know, buy?

Yeah, you probably read it the same place. I LOL’d when I saw the photo of the “Saturn 6” was actually a uHe softsynth.

Roundup of NAMM rumors:

Yamaha Montage might interest some folks. Personally I don’t do well with workstations that try to do it all. I’m sure a big reason is they historically required lots of menu-diving. I tend to be more productive with pieces of gear that each specialize in something.

Dave Smith Pro 4, said to sit between Prophet 6 and Pro 2 - could be interesting.

Other items already mentioned here, except the Eurorack stuff.
Possible leak from Reddit:

Three new Pocket Operators drop on Jan 21st

ARCADE - im guessing a chip tuney sid64 type synth

ROBOT - im guessing the drum synth from the op-1

OFFICE - no fvking clue

The Arcade was in plain view 19 weeks ago! Nice recollective find.

PO Office, maybe a mixer?

bah. i was hoping it wouldn’t be more PO’s… Cool as they seem, they’re not something I’d add to my setup – just a bit too toylike for me :-/

But don’t let me be the killjoy, I just haven’t seen the light yet

Oh yeah, you can see the labels.

Surprised you will be.

Best of both worlds: new PO’s (yes!) and an OP1 update please?

bah. i was hoping it wouldn't be more PO's... Cool as they seem, they're not something I'd add to my setup – just a bit too toylike for me :-/

After days of toying with them I had put them aside, since they couldn’t compare with Elektron machines to produce music.

I would even sample the PO-12 into OT to get the harsh sound without the inconvenient sequencer.

Then last holidays I jammed with a friend of mine, him on PO-12 and I on Volca Bass.
From dub to hip-hop to jungle we could do anything with these two devices, I was amazed at the huge variety of sounds we’ve come up with in 2 hours, and every minute was SO MUCH FUN ! I got maximum smile during the whole session !

So, maybe it’s more like playing video games but I found some instant pleasure to just play music with these little birds.

I’m under NDA this time… Tune in on thursday at 10.00 L.A. time for a first batch of information.

too bad, what if we all become 100$-patrons, cuckoo

can’t wait for thursday…
