Very nice. Although when you think about it a painting is temporal too but less obviously so. The effect of a painting is rarely instantaneous, if you get me.
There’s time in composition too, as in the competition space in a painting. But yes. The crux of it is true and makes you think 
I think there’s a lot to be said for decorating spaces with music too - starting with Brian Eno of course and “Music for Airports”
I agree with you all in the direction you are thinking but I see it as the substrate being decorated… both time and music are more or less intangible while space and paint are.
