OMG I just realized we can copy patterns between projects

Not just the note data, but the preset data as well. This will be huge for me, now I can keep writing my songs in their own projects but copy each one to a single project when I want to play them all live. Suh-weet

I had no idea about that. Thanks for sharing that tip.

can you please describe how you would then play live using one project? i don’t quite get it

I treat each horizontal row in my live set projects as a “song”, so I can play up to 9 songs within a single project (each is a scene for me). This lets me either switch songs entirely by switching scenes, or slowly swap out patterns from one song with the next song for longer transitions. Here’s a vey rough example of me trying it for the first time with the OP-XY, I should have some better sets to share here in a few weeks though:

awesome video!!! so just to be super clear- in the arranger page or whatever its called, each track can have up to 9 patterns. so then on track 1 with pattern 1, and track 2 with pattern 1, and track 3 with pattern 1, etc. etc. then that’s all one song? when you switch to pattern 2 on each track then that’s your song 2? all the way up to 9 songs?

Correct. I keep the instruments the same per track too so I know what is what. IE, Track 1 is always kicks and snares, Track 2 is always perc, 3 is HH and cymbals, 4 is basslines, 5 is lead synth, 6 is secondary synth, 7 and 8 are pads and textures/drones.

Does clone help in anyway in order to achieve this? I’m having trouble using it, and without that, then all I can figure is that you are copying and pasting each pattern between projects and a most tedious fashion.

Perhaps this is possible via computer, Traveling right now and don’t have one at the ready though.

So I guess I’m asking two questions, one is about clone which, if you look it up in the manual is an unfinished sentence something like “clone allows you to…”
And asking if you are just going through this tediously, or on computer or is there another way that I haven’t grasped.

Cheers, many thanks!
