OP-1 Archeology

So I bought a used OP-1 some years ago and noticed most of the keys getting a yellowish tint over time but interestingly not all of them… below I exaggerated a bit by editing the photos a bit, so you get the idea…


Wondering why the difference? I don‘t think these are replacement keys, I rather suspect different supplier batches in the original assembly… curious to see other‘s examples…

Son Wu’s (@HOLY) OG-1 had this discoloration pattern as well, and I think Jorb also

Wonder why it doesn’t effect some of the encoder housings

Ohh…the plot thickens…thanks! So based on that my guess is that it was in a repair facility and they didn‘t bother putting the exact same keys back, so either somebody out there should have my „vintage-look“ keys on their OG,or they ended up in the bin…
