an please don’t think of it as complaining, and rather a reflection:
As I was downloading this recent update, I was reminded of the first days/months of the OP-1… many years ago, and the kind of excitement that accompanied every single announcement from TE, because it meant that the device just expanded it’s capability, or introduced a new feature/functionality that no one expected. Again: I am not sure how to write this and not sound like it’s a complaint: it is not. Merely a reflection, recollection of the communal energy that surrounded the OG OP-1 in the first months of it’s existence! It was a wonderful feeling that made me think like I was part of something super exciting. And, of course, we still get to feel it with updates that add to the devices these days. Just maybe not as frequently or with the same intensity?
I am still very much a TE user: OP-1f, TX-6, OP-XY, and love working with these devices. Though the feeling I described above is no longer quite there. Not sure if that disappeared because of TEs growth and perhaps shifting company ambitions? Or perhaps splitting and multiplying product lines that simply can not be tended to with the same energy as when OP-1 was the singular focus?
I don’t know. I miss that energy a bit, but am grateful I got to experience it back then. It’s also hard to believe it was 11 years ago!
