I’m a pro with MIDI and connectivity. I’ve had my OP-1 field for years and I have never ever been able to connect to bluetooth MIDI. Doesn’t matter what device or host, it will connect briefly and quickly disconnect. No MIDI notes, no timeclock, no transport controls.
My OP-XY (with a near identical connection setup) works easily with everything. the OP-1 field does not. The OP-1 Field will not even connect to the OP-XY.
Anyone been able to fix this problem on their OP?
Just tried it with a singing doll. My op1field works via bluetooth midi.
But im not a pro.
I’ve had similar issues with my Field as well. Tried with both my iPad, iPhone and MacBook and have had no luck with it.
Have you tested with a wide variety of devices?
I’ve noticed that some of my Bluetooth devices (not TE but stuff like gaming mice, keyboards, etc.) just will not pair with specific devices (such as an older iPhone) but will pair with other devices just fine (such as my Windows PC).
I suspect that there are Bluetooth hardware version mismatches as well as Bluetooth driver/OS mismatches.
Bluetooth is super-complex. I’ve tinkered with it at the source code level for LINUX to get it to work for some devices.
Once you get your OP-1 Field working with some other devices, you might have enough info to approach TE and ask for a firmware update.
Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Yes I’ve tried many many devices over the years. Literally nothing is able to connect. I believe it to be a hardware issue but was hoping someone else might have experienced something similar and could share their trials.
my op-xy works with everything I try to connect it to (except the OP) and it is the same process
ive never had an issue with op1f ble midi. can you send a video or more detailed procedure description of your setup and process?
