OP-1 field feature requests

I was thinking it would be cool to have an option for the spring where you could shake or tap on the op-1 to excite it. Like a real spring tank.

solve that feedback problem when using the op1 as an audio interface with an ipad/iphone. The OPz can do it, so I am sure the Op1f is capable of that too

Really? I haven’t found it. I’ll have to dig through the manual more.

I wish I could help, I don’t own one, but I remember one of the new features being note hold. Maybe it’s in the sequencer page?

look in the sequencers, there’s one called hold. it holds notes for you

Yup, I just found another forum post:
Oh, I’d love an HOLD function on the OP-1! (SOLVED!) - OP-1 - OP Forums (op-forums.com)

describing it — thanks!! Will try tonight.

This!

I actually like that this stuff isn’t saved, so you can start a different song but with the same instruments etc easily. But the option would be great.

Duh. I should really read the manual again. The hold sequencer is right below “Finger”.

Sigh. Hopefully this helps someone else, or I find it here next time I forget!

I‘d love to have another generative sequencer, possibly with a few rhythmic settings.

I wish you could pick the sequencers as an LFO destination

I second this. The ability to save sequencer settings would take this thing next level

I’m finding the menu / setup options fairly limited for the complexity of it being a USB audio and midi host.

Settings should maybe allow:

Choose usb midi in / out both
Local on/ off for midi
Choose usb audio in / out / both

Etc

Ok that’s quite interesting. LFO to Velocity, LFO to swing, etc etc

most of these settings already exist in other parts of the op1f

midi in/out/on/off is - shift + com
selecting usb input - shift + mic

Ha yeah thats what I mean. The settings are barely adequate.

Eg where is the control for usb audio out?
Eg where is local off
Eg turn off usb midi and use ble only or vice versa

I’d love the possibility to control the panning of any instrument before recording / burning it to tape.

A speech synthesizer/volcaloid would be sweet.

not at all saying that saving sequences wouldn’t be useful
but i’ve never really thought it was all that necessary or “game changing”

mess with your seq’s lay them down on tape and keep it moving
if u must go back, recreate it or do something new, different, variation.
alot of times when i go back to recreate a seq
i come up with something different that i like even more
or fits better w/ what i’m doing in the current moment

not to mention that recreating your sequences from memory
is a great exercise & practice

sometimes thats what i like about the OP1 most
is that it forces u to pay attention and do things right the first time or so for the most part
it also forces u to get creative when u do want to go back and fix stuff
there are things u can do to go back, its not like u are completely stuck or anything
u get better at this as u keep doing it too
it makes u a better musician, producer, engineer, etc

8 track is top of my list. I like the other restrictions but 4 tracks can be quite limiting
