OP-1 Field mic not detecting sound / extremely low sensitivity. Firmware 1.6.9, factory reset didn't help

Hey everyone, I got an OP-1 Field about 2 years ago (Amazon). I use it occasionally, mostly to sketch and play around, barely used the internal mic. Now I’m trying to use it and I think something’s wrong. The gain is up to 20, I’m speaking about 20cm away from it, and there’s barely signal detection. I also played a song from my iPhone about 3cm away from the mic and it barely picked anything up.

Things I’ve tried: firmware is on the latest (1.6.9), factory reset, turning it on/ off, compressed air, nothing worked.

Care context: I carry it inside a case, and when I leave it in my desk I put the decksaver on.

Has anyone had this issue or knows how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Hi I seem to remember an issue with the og1 where the mic wouldn’t work and plugging an external mic in and unplugging it seemed to bring the internal mic back to life.

I imagine that won’t do anything on the field but its worth verifying that an external mic works and also the mic on a set of wired headphones works too.

Hey @Midi_paul thanks for the suggestion! I don’t have an external mic to test with, but I tried connecting my guitar to the OP-1 and the signal came through fine. After disconnecting it, I tested the internal mic again but still no luck. I also tried the headset mic as you suggested, and that works perfectly too.
