OP-1 Update 2016

Anyone hoping for the ability to save sequences with Pattern? Thats my only gripe with the OP-1. I would happily lose other sequencers (sketch for one) and have a super pattern seq with 32 steps, the ability to copy/paste seqs into new ones (imagine that) and a lovely save option! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease TE!!

No no,not my sketch.sorry no

@jonesey_op yeah a Pattern/arpeggio memory bank would be great. Even if only like 20 memory slots. Must be tiny amount of data/memory space to save that info, so I guess not having any pattern memory outside of ā€˜finger’ is a UI decision more than anything else? Limitations can be cool but sometimes ā€˜more’ IS ā€˜more’

Oh my, what a good idea.

The thing with Pattern is that you would have to alter the fact that it can be used today, as Endless seq, to play from different notes.
But that’s true that it may be less convenient with drums that it is with notes.

@lyingdalai I’m not sure I follow you? A saved/loaded pattern could still be transposable in the same way that it is originally transposable? Unless I’m missing something

If saving/copying/pasting the Pattern seq is a UI thing…How about the ability to ā€˜lift’ the midi data from Pattern and into Endless (where it can be saved)…And then (whenever you need to access that killer Pattern seq you made a few days back) simply loading it in seq, lifting and dropping back into Pattern.

Will the OS update be fixing the popping issue with loops?

!?!?!?!! This is great news! Where can I get the beta?

Also, I suppose if I update I’ll lose any saved work on the machine. If I back up my 4 tracks to my pc can I put them back on after updating OS?

I’m on the beta. If i record the while the track is looping, the clicks are alive and well. If you turn the loop off and record they are pretty much gone, but then you don’t have delay tails or reverb decay on the first note. Maybe I’m doing it wrong.

Ugh. If beta still has clicks I’ll just wait for a final release. Honestly I’m still not familiar enough with the OP-1 yet to go changing stuff.

I have yet to hear any pops or clicks since the beta

Huh. Is the Beta pretty stable? I may just give it a shot anyway.

Can you point me in the right direction for a download?

Thanks
Stig

Man, why won’t TE just give us an update on where this stands? Like, even ā€œHey, we’re still working on it!ā€ or ā€œWe’ve still got more to do and we’re not sure when it will be readyā€ would be better than just nothing.

^this is the way they do things. the updates always seemingly come out of nowhere. atleast we know its actively being developed and will drop some time this summer. thats way more then we have known before past updates.

true

it’ s this swedish thing

All of Sweden is probably on vacation right now.
The beta was shown in its current state at Musikmesse back in April and at the very least the graphics for slump (and iter if included?) are missing. That could take a lot of creative processing time given that likely most of the team is working on the op-z.

Just guessing about all of this. Have patience everyone…

I hate patience. But ok, i’ll download some beta version of patience.

this update better be fucking good then it come out.

I’ve give up even checking for updates.
