For the video, I filmed with an iPhone, dumped the videos into an iMovie project and doddled around with transparecy and timed it to the track manually by cutting and pasting video bits. I’m going to hunt for more nice London overground routes to film, with better perspectives, scrolling, etc.
The beat is samples only on both synths and drums, except for the sub bass which is from a synth engine. The OP-1’s EQ/compressor definitely makes the beat bounce and the mute tape tracks combos makes it come to life. Nothing has been sequenced either which might add a bit of organic feel to it.
I thought about a rapper as well! I got Ice Cube’s “check yoself before you wreck yoself” in my head when I hear the beat.
