OP-1 VIDEOS

Nice one @josker! I’m finally getting an Octatrack, but they seem to be sold out everywhere at the moment. =)

ooh @vehka, i think you’re going to love it. yeah, it’s funny how it’s out of stock, been that way for a while. I guess the AK/AR releases clogged the pipeline for Elektron for a while. They have been adamant in stating that the Octatrack is not becoming obsolete any time soon, so I guess one just has to be patient…

thank you guys @mixrasta @josker

here is my new video…

thanks for watching!

@hellmuss fucking great!!! i learned a lot.

lol @ the random extra hand @hellmuss but thanks for sharing.

Hey @hellmuss you just blew my mind because for some reason I never considered playing chords with the endless sequencer. I am a recent OP-1 convert, but have only been lurking for the past couple of weeks. I had to post just to say thanks!

Got myself a Kenton USB Midi Host so I can sync up the OP-1 with other toys.
Excuse the crap phone-video, this is just me testing everything is working.
Will get some better quality videos done once I get other stuff hooked up too.

had an impromptu jam with Tim Exile last night at music tech fest. My mate filmed bit of it, tad crappy but thought I’d share. think he wants one now!

A little jam session with the OP-1, MicroGranny2.0 and Volca Bass

That was really cool, Spacetravel.

Not sure this is the right place to post this but…

My band The Dead Milkmen have a new album coming out on October 7th and this is the first video we put together for the title track. Its us in the recording studio. Even though I’m the drummer I managed to get my beloved OP-1 on the track at the opening of the song. Its not much - but hey - I’ll take what I can get! About 15 seconds in…

Love that you guys are recording on tape. and the song totally has the feel of your stuff from the 80s, but sounds contemporary too. Great stuff @mrclean .

Hey @spacetravelmadeeasy great vid! How did you manage to sync the OP-1 tape and Volca? Is is just a matter of lining up tempos and hitting play at the same time? Or is there some kind of other magic at work?

@wingo the volca is synced to the op-1 via a Kenton Midi USB Host - they cost about £100 but can be found second hand on eBay. I’ve got the op1 midi out running through that, through the MicroGranny then out to the volca bass.
If you want more midi ins and outs then look at getting an iconnectMidi 4+. It’s a bit more money but allows for more connectivity.

@spacetravelmadeeasy thanks for the info! I figured it was something like that. I’ll probably end up just pulling the trigger on the OpLab because I want to do similar stuff but with some cv things as well.

@mrclean I really enjoyed that!

A little jam from last night with OP-1, SAMPLR (on iPad) and Volca Bass.

I found out as I was uploading the video that Samplr now has mini-in sync! :slight_smile: Going to have to give that a try!

@formatk that is rad! His “I get it now” reaction at the end is the same one I had that made me decide to get one.
