Checking my inbox constantly for a shipping update, but this morning I had a bit of a wobble and thought about cancelling.

It’s been discussed quite a bit, regarding other gear that money could buy you. And whilst I’ve had and tried all the various bits and bobs they simply don’t have the immediacy and fun factor of the Op-1.

But still, my mind kept thinking about an Mpc X, or another go with the Force.I fully appreciate what’s on offer but, you know, they’re not an Op- at the end of the day.

So my wobble is over. Going to keep looking hourly for that delivery update and perhaps contemplate getting another Mpc One, for when I fancy a change.

Or all 3… MPC X, Force, and OP-1 Field… sounds like an insane sampling, looping, effects setup!

F**k it, I cancelled.

I have 2 Op-1s and there’s more than enough with a dual setup to enjoy.

Going to think about my next move…

Maybe one day I’ll get a Field though.

Hopefully someone here will get bumped up the queue.

Yeah, it’s hard to justify it. I’ve sold everything else. I’m not a “musician” and have found the OP-1 (and the Z) as the best machines to scratch the creative itch for me.

Or at least that’s how I’m justifying it to myself.

I do have doubts though.

I understand completely.

I sold everything and got the dual Op’s for the same reason.

But I thought it wise to go back to/add something a bit more feature rich, for when that mood takes me.

I’m familiar with the new Mpc’s. Had a Live, One, Live 2, Force, so thought I’d try the big daddy this time.

I’ll pop it on the front of a fuzzy sweater and wear it around the office

I had a Force also . Liked it. Too deep for a non muso though. Sold it and bought the 2nd OP-1.

Was tempted by the Live 2 for a while, but have decided to settle for the field. For now . Maybe.

One hell of a flex :joy:

The piece of gear that updated everything was the octatrack, but it needs so much time to investigate

I had a couple of OT’s too, but I found them too fiddly to just get down with. Even today I was watching videos and I still see them primarily as performance instruments, and that’s not really my thing.

I originally got them to break out of a certain way of making music, but disliked the programmer aspect even more so.

But I’ve understood what I enjoy about the Op-1s and will try to incorporate/replicate certain workflows on/with the X.

Has anyone in the US received tracking info or their unit yet?

I imagine they will send a large batch of them at one time.

Re-posting as I had it in the wrong thread…

I hope i am in the next batch, ordered exactly 2 hours and 28 mins later

Not that I’m trying to fill your tank with GAS, but as a non-keyboardist, the MPC Live 2 totally opened up the OP-1 for me - specifically because the chord and scale function basically let’s me drum melodic elements into the OP-1.
