Actually I just tried it here and it’s working fine. Set your pattern length first, then hold Rec and start pressing trigs. When you get to the end of the first bar it will automatically go to bar two and keep adding notes to the sequencer.
If I’ve recorded notes at a different track scale, for instance track scale 4, do you know if there is a way to edit individual notes later, as there are multiple notes on a single step? I haven’t found a way to zoom in, and if I need to edit the only workaround I’ve found is to delete that step and re-enter the notes live.
Kind of, you can remove notes and change the micro timing. If two notes fall on the same step, that can be difficult to edit, but there is a trick that will help. If the notes on the same step are different, hold the note you want to edit on the keyboard and then tap record, this will show just that note on the sequencer, then you can adjust just that note on the step and not the other, so you can remove the note or alter the microtiming with + and -. If they are the same note, I don’t think that there’s much that you can do, just remove that section and re-record.
When I’ve got two bars playing and I press Bar to switch bars, say from bar 1 to bar 2, the manual says
“if you switch bars while playing or recording it will stay on the selected bar, allowing you to sequence just that bar without interruption.”
this is just a visual thing, right? On mine it stays on bar 2, visually, but keeps playing both bars 1 and 2. Is this the expected behavior?
Yeah, I was confused by that too, I thought it would loop the second bar, but it just keeps the second bar steps on the sequencer, so that you can edit bar 2 while it’s playing bar 1.
@rephazer
I thought I saw a post where you mentioned how much space there is allotted per multisampled instrument. Am I remembering right? Did you say a 40
second limit, 6.7mb? I can’t seem to find the og post.
Thanks!
How much voltage can the OP-XY input take? Since it has CV out, it could be really easy to plug the modular audio output back into it and forget to attenuate the signal first.
I thought it was 20 sec per sample (times 24). I just created a multisample preset with 22 samples and a total file size was around 39Meg…each sample was somewhere around 10 seconds
Has anyone figured out how to use the number pad to enter the BPM, record or parameter lock the ARP, or use record or parameter lock on the first page of the sampler? Additionally, has anyone discovered how to manually record multiple notes in a sequence that span more than two octaves without recording them live, and how to adjust the velocity of notes without using step components? Another thing I’ve noticed is that muting FX tracks has no effect. I’m just curious if anyone has found solutions for any of these missing features yet.
Seems to recognize MIDI instruments going into OPXY. I don’t think it can recognize devices hooked to MIDI out as there is no communication there (that’s going in)
ok cool, i tried usb midi and XY responds as expected to note input but I don’t think I’ll be able to add the external device to the list and save settings
maybe with a later update but who knows
i also wanna see how things differ when using trs midi
I have just discovered (maybe it was in the manual) that many of the punch-in effects vary with the gyroscope (try tilting the op-xy when there are punch-in effects playing). I’ve not yet found a way to record these variations as far as I can see. Has anyone played around with this and found whether recording variations is possible?
