OP-XY dry reverb/delay dry parameter

I find it strange that the reverb and delay have a dry parameter. Since these are send effects what is the point? Maybe they didn’t have any other parameters to change for these effects so they just threw it in?

By reverb if you set the dry parameter to zero it behaves like an insert effect. By delay the value of 0 means that only repeats are played. This is also mentioned in the guide.

Yes but I can do the same thing with the send level vs the mix level of the track. I think I’m just not understanding the intent behind them.

There’s no way to play 100 wet delay from from the send level, it will always play the dry level too. This let’s you get around that.

I thought the send is pre fader, but it’s post? I don’t have an OP-XY currently so I can’t check.

I tried checking their signal flow diagram but I found it really confusing.

Yeah, send is post-fader unlike on the OP-Z. It’s kinda confusing to me, especially when it comes to the tape track.

Maybe I’m wrong, but the send seems like it’s a cross fade between the dry and the wet. If you put send 1 at 100 % and then put the volume for fx 1 to 0 % you don’t hear anything, regardless of the effect. If you increase the volume of fx 1 you will only hear the wet signal (or a mix of wet and dry if you are using reverb or delay). I tried this with the chorus and phaser effects (since they don’t have the wet/dry parameter).

So it seems like you would still be able to get a 100 % wet reverb or delay even if they didn’t have the dry param.

This is what it seems like to me anyways.
