Anyone else ever have any OP or specifically an OP-XY that the power switch most of the time takes two toggles on to get the device to boot?
Has been happening the whole time I’ve had the unit since December. Seemed to briefly get better a couple updates ago, wondering if anyone else had that issue? New update seems a little buggy so I’m holding off unless it fixes that issue.
Going to reach back out to support but hoping not to have to go without it as it has really made music production more fun and fast again
I have never experienced that problem with either the OP-1 Field or OP-XY, and I would be surprised if many here have experienced this. I suggest you contact TE about it. A switch has a finite life, and you are effectively halving that.
Yeah it’s been like that since day 1, that is good advice. I had reached out but then it started working better for a few days, once I get back from a trip I’m going on I’ll contact them and be without it for a while. Not work the risk on such an expensive piece of gear!
i definitely would not spray anything inside there. there could be tiny or thin materials like plastics or film that could be sensitive to temperature and even a cold blast of compressed air could cause them to warp or damage. i’ve learned that the hard way on other gear. i’d simply contact te

Do you have anything plugged into the USB port? I’ve found the XY sometimes doesn’t boot if I have something plugged into it, like a USB mic or the OP-1f.
If not, I had a similar issue with my OP-1f where the power switch became unresponsive (mine got stuck on and wouldn’t shut down unless the battery ran out). It had to be replaced.
My OP-XY always boots up but the switch is super rigid sometimes and I really have to put some force into it to flip it on. I’m worried that I may break it one day while trying to force it on. Hoping it smoothes out after a while with use, fingers crossed. I tested both switches of my OP-XY and OP-1 Field to make sure that OP-XY is in fact tough and have confirmed that switch on my OP-XY is a lot less smooth than the one on my OP- Field. Good to know its not just me that is having issues with it.
Mine started off needing a on-off-on to get it fired up. Occasionally it started first flip of the switch. Was like that for a month or so and didn’t bother me.
It now fires up first go which could mean it’s a hardware issue. Definitely had nothing to do with a firmware update.
