OP-XY sync to TX-6 over midi in port

I have a TX-6 and an OP-XY and I’m having trouble syncing the clock from the TX-6 (master) to the OP-XY (slave). I’m using the aux out of the TX-6 into the midi in of the OP-XY.

TX-6 settings:

  • Clock: set to INT. Out is ON
  • Midi: CTRL set to out
  • Aux: set to sync8 or 16 (tried both)

OP-XY settings:

  • In COM → settings: midi is set to in

The OP-XY won’t sync the BPM. Has anyone been able to get this type of setup to work?

I can get the OP-XY and TX-6 to sync when they are connected over USB. However, this introduces other issues for what I’m trying to do (I’m essentially trying to use the TX-6 in DJ mode) so I was hoping to use the midi in port of the OP-XY for this purpose. I’d appreciate any help!

You can sync them over Bluetooth, that’s how I normally sync the two so that I can keep the USB ports on both available for other things.

can you describe the exact settings to sync the tempo between op-xy and tx-6 via bluetooth? Thank you!

I don’t have access to my XY or TX-6 right now, but the details on turning on bluetooth and setting up sync were easy to follow in their respective manuals.
