Thanks guys, got an answer from TE also, and turns out the answer is that it should work any USB-C key provided it is FAT32 formatted. Also turns out when I do it “natively” with my PC, although I select the FAT32 option, it does not do so for whatever reason, and I had to install an external app which does so properly or so it seems as it works now with the same key.

Windows not providing a way to straight up do FAT32 formatting instead of the newer one has brought me no end of grief. Glad you got it sorted out!
