I recently went back to an old pattern that I made a while back. It used to have the little voice stealing (chip?) icon flashing from time to time, but was always white. I’ve noticed now that this will flash red from time to time; it never did this before - I’ve changed nothing in the pattern. Is this linked to the latest firmware 1.0.50)? Has anyone else had this happen. The pattern is not particularly complex, with no step components.
Are you on the (red) auxiliary tracks? If you are maybe the chip flashes red.
I’ve only seen the white chip graphic. I’ll have a look tomorrow and see if I can get the red one.
Unless I’m mistaken you only see the chip icon on the projects page, which I was on, so not linked to the auxiliary page. As I understand it, the icon turns red when you are pushing the processor a bit and getting voice stealing.
Correct. I think they improved the icon to be more accurate when you’re actually having voices drop out. Prior to that I would hear it sometimes but the icon was still white which always seemed odd.
I guess that explains why I’ve not seen this before, but I don’t hear voice stealing.
However, I’m surprised to see it on what is a simple pattern - 2 drum tracks, 1 sample track (triggering a single sample once every 4 bars), 1 synth arpeggiator, and 2 synth tracks, no step components and a single sequenced punch in effect.
It doesn’t seem obvious what does and doesn’t eat up processing power.
