:
BTW, I just remembered a few more things I’d love to see:
Fold keyboard to scale
This would double the notes available on the keys, since notes outside the scale would be replaced with ones from other octaves that are in scale.
Quantizer on modulation source (pitch / OSC)
Self-explanatory.
Freely scalable oscillator (personal wish)
On a personal note, I would really love to see something that’s very rare in synths: the ability to freely scale the oscillators in synth engines (or in a complex OSC engine).
Most synths are always locked to 12 notes per octave. But if you scale it differently—say to 8—the oscillator divides itself as 8 notes across an octive, resulting in new harmonium. It’s very fun to explore and feels quite avant-garde (almost no one is doing this).
On my Spectralis, I experimented with this approach and often ended up with very cool melodies I wouldn’t have found within the standard 12-note system. Maybe this could be implemented as part of a “free keyboard scaling” option—just a thought… IMO would suit the Y quite well
EQ under filter section
This would be extremely useful, especially since the XY only has one filter per drum kit. Being able to step-lock EQ can help clean up sampled loops and handle general sound design needs where precise band control is important.
Engine swap between OP–1 Field and OP–XY
Why not swap two engines between the Teenage Engineering OP–1 Field and the Teenage Engineering OP–XY??
The OP–1 Field is very musician-oriented—recording takes to audio while the OP–XY is more techy. I’m sure OP–1 Field users (musicans) would love a dedicated piano and organ engines, while the OP–XY could receive two more technically suited synth engines in return.
Realistically, most people won’t buy both units just for a couple of engines, so its a lazy code easy money no braine, TE can play it as a marketing card to something like International Day of Friendship.
Final note
In my opinion, the OP–XY is one of the best-sounding grooveboxes out there. I really love the digital engines, it has a strong, vibrant tone. Even from online demos, there are moments where the tone resonates my body, which is rare for digital synths. It’s probably in my top five favorite digital synths.
That said, the very hi-fi sound and lack of certain tools can sometimes result in softer or overly clean results (you can hear this in many demos online) Im note here to make lullabies .
So I just want to underline and repeat features that would be very welcome in the instrument chain: Waveshapers Rectifiers, Drive, Saturation, Wavefolding, Bitcrushing, Frequency decimation, Ring modulation, FM / PM modulation

Thank you so o so very much !
