They are totally different… one is midi oriented the other audio … don’t think its a flagship battle at all … but this is definitely taking that spot if there is one …
Its got cv options too … Its going to rule as a centerpieces in a small setup… and at this price I fully expected tape machines along side tape fx
Yah, I mean I’m still excited to see what the mad engineers have come up with now, I’m just not seeing anything to get my credit card out for for my own personal purposes.
I really hope it finds the right audience and wows them all!
Hmm looks cool can’t wait to watch some videos after work. But I don’t feel the need to have this so far lol like I still want the field as a og 1 user. But this isn’t really making techlust for it
Such a cool video. It made me feel exactly like when I saw an OP-1 for the first time, that feeling of not understanding absolutely anything is happening nor the workflow or anything else but wanting to learn more about it. Fascinating interface IMHO.
Anyone here have any previous experience with ordering direct from TE if in the US. Trying to figure out if ordering direct from them or from a dealer would be faster.
Did you find a dealer that already has some in stock? I ended up ordering direct, if nothing else it makes any potential warranty issues maybe a little easier to deal with down the road.
Do you mean software updates? Not sure how that would work. The OP-XY has a whole extra line of keys + lights on the 16 sequencer step buttons + dedicated midi in/out + pitch bend control.
Even if they wanted to update the software on the OP-1 field to do the same things (and assuming the internal components are able to run all the new functionality) you’d end with a pretty compromised user experience IMHO.
Easy enough to dremel that part away off the deck saver though if needed. I already did that on mine for the IO ports on the side of the OP-1F so I can leave the cables plugged in and cover it.
I have an XY on order, happy to test this and report back once it gets here.
