Skipping notes after 1.0.29 update.
In particular with the “in phase” drum preset’s kick. Lay down a simple 4 on the floor kick, be it the F or F# and play. On the second or third round or so, it misses a beat or two. Allow it to run for a while and it keeps missing beats randomly. It’s affecting projects created before the firmware update as well as new ones. Of course I’ve tried creating projects from scratch rather than a template to make sure no components were placed in the track. Seems to occur with this preset only. Maybe a bug in clearing out the buffer?
Anyway, “in phase” is one of my favourite drum presets, so hope TE fixes this soon.
I’ve also run into this kind of bug. And I also noticed that it was specific to 60 and 120 bpm.
I reported this bug to TE. I recommend you to do the same.
I noticed something similar when I play the arp with a sequence. The number of arp notes played varies per step, even when the length of the steps is exactly the same. At first I thought it had something to do with the swing setting. But that doesn’t seem to be the cause.
That seems odd because 120 BPM seems to be a default (i.e. frequently used) value, so one would think it would have been tested most thoroughly. Generally, I would think that after a few firmware updates (for any product, not just TE stuff), it would be the least used, more esoteric features that would be buggy.
With the In Phase bass drum ‘bug’, detune the sample by +0.20 or turn off one-shot mode. This solves the dropouts. I guess it’s something to do with the end of sample overlapping with the next sample causing the dropouts. I guess detuning or no one-shot (or adjusting the tempo) stops some weird interaction.
I have a bad bug that made me have to go back to an older version until they fix it… If I record a sample or just import a sample in and make a preset out of it then try to export it on to my computer the preset is corrupt. Meaning if I drag the saved preset back into the op-XY it’s all static and glitchy.
Thus it makes it impossible for me to creat any sound packs with the newest version.
I spent hours on my last soundpack only to find out about the bug.
I had to start over again with the previous version.
I can confirm your issue and already created a ticket. The modified preset data (.json file) seems to be fine, it’s the sample data which will be corrupted as soon as you transfer your samples to the computer.
To complete your soundpack simply combine your original samples (assuming they coming from your computer and not from the XY) with the modified .json patch setting file.
My system settings keep getting reset every time I turn off the device. Projects and samples are still there, but brightness, power switch settings, velocity etc are all reset. Anyone else have this issue with 1.0.29?
When you power it on, look in the upper left of the display as it’s booting and see if it says “performing factory init”. It flashes quickly, so you have to be looking for it. I just got my second XY and this happened to me once already on 1.0.29.
I had this “performing factory init” and was freaking out that I’d lost my projects - but it did reset my system settings, power switch behaviour etc, but projects intact.
