OP-Z and iRig

Do we still need to use a device - such as iRig - to use the OPZ line-in for sampling?

I’ve seen a few videos online suggesting the iRig is required to convert the audio to safe levels but I’m not sure if that is still the case.

Thanks all.

I don’t think it’s a level issue. The OP-Z out is trrs like your cell phone, allowing audio to go out and in. You need a device like irig (though I would recommend the digdugdiy op-z splitter) to direct the audio traffic into the proper channels (output goes out, input goes in)

I have the same question and haven’t been able to find a definitive answer.

Is an iRig or iRig 2 OK for line level signals into the OP-Z? They’re made for guitars so this isn’t a given and TE warn that line level signals could damage the OP-Z input

I know the digdugDIY splitter will match the impedence but they’re out of stock at the moment and also 10x the price of an old iRig. So, anyone using an iRig with line input? Cheeers.

@eubique pm me i think i still have a board or two i could whip one up for ya
