I always wanted to get more behind of the chop key/user key6 which seems to be a cool thing, but besides of running tape in reverse (chop+play) I didn’t find a use in my productions in a musical way, yet. In playback, it makes this nice juggling „forward-reverse-hook“ kind of effect, but I didn’t find a way to, for instance, use it aligned to a rhythm. I wonder,
what are your approaches and experiences with it so far?
I always found it pretty frustrating that the chop effect doesn’t let the tape continue running in the background silently, like the tape stop effect (key 5) does. That way after releasing the chop key, the tape would still be in sync, and that would make for a cool and usable stutter effect. But the way it’s currently implemented, I never use it.
likewise. the only ways ive ever used it (and its pretty rare) is if i hold down for an entire measure of music so that at least when i let go its not after some weird number of beats.
