OPXY and OG-1 MIDI on USB / charging?

Pulled the trigger on the slider flipped out year OPXY…had some fun with using my original OP-1 with master Phone FX on the OPXY multiout audio/audio in an effects loop…

Two things:

  1. MIDI on USB does not seem to do anything whether 1 to XY or the other way around, what am i missing (did try both OPXY aux 3 MIDI track and instrument track set to channel 7 (OP1 channel)
  2. cannot turn charging off on the OPXY when it is connected direct to OP1 with USB mini to USB C cable

Please advise and thanks…

2 - I could never get this to work either.

Yeah this has been an age old bug on the field as well

A word to the wise, try different cables. This solved the MIDI issue (but not the charging one)

Note that i did decide to return the OPXY…was conflicted about it for a number of reasons and while i believe that it might have been worth the “sale” price with the slider it is not a finished instrument yet (sampling and sample management are quite bad) - for me it was better to get my money back even if it will never be that cheap again. My $0.02

Thanks, I am gonna give different cables a try for midi. The charging bug is especially annoying though in combination with an iPhone (e.g. trying to sync op1 tape to Koala sampler) because its battery is drained at lightning speed.

ot part of my reply: I also received my refund today from returning my discounted opxy. In my situation, I simply have no use for another portable fool-around box that cannot multitrack into my daw, when my Tracker Mini does just that effortlessly over usb. I think this is the glaring blind spot of most te gear and is mitigated in the op1 by being able to simply copy the tape files…
And yeah, sample management is bad…
