Oh: The fifth key of the sequencer was a bit wonky, now it fell off. Interesting.: It looks like it’s a completely different mechanism than the op1 keys.
And unfortunately, it looks like it couldn’t be solved by myself, probably it has to go back to Sweden.
Just a reminder for repairs with TE… I know for my OP-1F it just sat there because I didn’t send them an email… their process is… odd? Anyways… just wanted to say “stay in touch with them” to make sure you know what parts of the process you are in and if you need to do anything to move it along.
I thought I had posted what happened in the forum here, but cannot find the reference to it…
Basically what I recall happening was I filled out the form, got the information to send it out for repair, got a note it would be “repaired any day now”, and then nothing. No bill for repair, no update it was ready to send back, nothing.
I wrote them an email about a month later asking what was going on, and got a “oh yeah, it’s been sitting on the desk waiting for you to pay”… but I never received an invoice or anything.
So you probably won’t hit this issue as the repair should be under warranty, but I found it to be a bit odd, as it actively required me to reach out to them in order to push their process forward.
That’s a tiny spring, which holds the two metal prongs together which sit under the button.
Quite a wonder that I didn’t lose it. But the whole assembly looks like it’s soldered in, So I’m pretty sure the whole thing has to go back to Sweden.
My last contact with teenage engineering about two years ago regarding my OP-Z was really great, very quick turnaround and very friendly help. You hear so many terrible stories, but mine was great.
