Haha AARGH please can we have a normal decay envelope on drum sample kits?
I am totally into the creative limitations but this is just a simple missing thing, it creates huge clicks otherwise, especially when you’re using more interesting one shot samples in there!
PLEASE TE ADD THIS - This can be added in the place of the existing ‘transient shaper’ on #2 in the drum interface… perhaps the user can choose to switch between them when you press shift + 2 and select ‘shaper’ or ‘envelope’
I sent a detailed feature request to TE about this about 6 months ago. I agree this is the single biggest problem with the Field. If it was possible to chop samples without clicks the Field would instantly become one of the best devices for sample based music, period.
Synth sampler doesn’t have clicks like that but the drum sampler does when using chops. It’s like there is no zero crossing between samples when they choke each other. So frustrating
I would moreover suggest a fix for an issue in the same line. In synth mode, if you set a loop close to the end of the sample and keep a long decay in it’s enveloppe, then you’ll get an annoying click. Obviously, the fix would be to calculate the remaining time in the sample after the loop end and add a sufficient number of loops so that the total time would fit the time required to finalize the decay. It should take a few lines of code to calculate the proper duration, then create a temporary copy into memory to play the sample in a good manner when the key is released.
I’m probably in the minority that loves the drum transient shaper on the OP-1F, but I also strongly agree that having an alternative regular AD or even ADSR would be super nice to choose between or have as a secondary VCA shaper in addition to what we have now.
