Pocket Operator Books! ONLINE!!! iBooks and Google Play

WOW just got my PO-16 Thursday and today got this book. I would be lost without it. Learned more from the first 2 pages than I did from trying to figure it out from the manual. Great work. Restored my faith in the little machine as well.

Very glad to hear that! Cheers!

Hi @Kites! Thanks for your reply. (sorry mine took so long ;) )

I totally get what you mean! It was my plan all along to have some illustrations, backgrounds, etc. to keep it a bit more "light reading". But it turned out that creating "the perfect epub file" that could be read smoothly on iphone, ipad and android was very hard when it came to adding images. So I had to compromise and make it a bit more "boring" looking instead of having a lot of unviewable images.

I sure hope you got some good out of the book and not just a snooze ;)

Cheers!

Hey MadeUpMonster. Good work. I had the same problem with the OP-1 Cookbook. Very difficult to get the book format right for multiple devices. I just did the iPad version of the iBook but have started working on ePub for multiple formats. Time is the issue right now in terms of finishing it

Yeah the E-book business ain’t always easy! Hope you’ll be able to finish the ePub version soon

Bought all three….that was a disappointment/mistake…cheap mistake at least… Couldn't you have put all 3 together…They're basically copy pastes of each other with the exception of effects section/mini drum machine parts.

Hi, I’m sorry that you feel this way. I originally planned on making just one book for all three but later decided to make one for each of the POs.

The main reason is that not everyone have all three and I wanted to make the books easy and fast to learn from. You shouldn’t have to skip over or read about other POs that you don’t have and getting distracted from creating and having fun with the PO you DO have.

Another reason is price. I wanted the book to be cheap and if I had made all three books into one the price would go up. And again, not everyone have all three POs and then they might not want to buy a more expensive E-book to get a lot of information that they don’t need.

I feel that it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that there is a lot of shared content about the basic operation of the PO because the POs are operated in a very similar way. In the sample downloads available on both iBooks and Google Play you can read the table of content and see what is the same and what is not so I don’t feel like I have been tricking anyone. Or I certainly didn’t mean to.

The books are meant to help you get as much out of your PO as possible and have fun. Once again, sorry that you feel disappointed.

Best regards, M.U.M.
Thanks for the guides. It got me up to speed so much faster than if I had relied only on the Teenage Engineering docs. It just made everything so much more fun. I appreciated being able to read them on my iPhone alongside my PO devices.

Aside: I hear the complaints about the books being copy/pastes of each other, but I still found these books invaluable for the price.

I’m very happy that you liked 'em! Funny that you mention the iPhone. This was a very big deal for me that you have to be able to view the books on your phone since the POs are so portable. Then the guide needs to be portable too

I’m sorry for the “copy/paste” and I have left a looong explanation in a post above this one about this. Hope you found it useful and worth it anyway

Cheers!

Just my opinion here, but the price could be the same. You would only need to add the caveat “this is the same for all 3 P0’s” and boom one book. No worries though.
