Pocket Operator Books! ONLINE!!! iBooks and Google Play

Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I have written two books about the POs and they are now released on both iBooks and Google Play!
It’s one book about the PO-12 and one for the PO-14 and they include a lot of tips and tricks that will help both the n00b and pro user. For example I share my way of making songs on the POs, how to use all of it’s features and how to use effects in unorthodox ways. I also describe sync, all parameters and a lot of other stuff.

You can find them here:

Very cool, I was waiting for someone to do this.

Thanks @swam! Am about to upload the PO-16 edition today if everything goes as planned.

@MadeupMonster - good idea, I would suggest selling on sellfy and possibly think of doing bundle price for all 3 guides.

Thanks @madeupmonster! Gonna buy for sure!

The PO-16 book has landed on iBooks, heres the link: https://itunes.apple.com/se/book/po-16-factory/id973451795?mt=11

It should be up on Google Play very soon(as soon as it’s approved by Google.)

I also uploaded a video of a track that I made with the PO-16. Check it!

Hi, just wanted to see what you guys, who purchased the books, think about 'em?

Bump

MadeUpMonster, I read a few segments in your PO-12 book and I think you did a great job. Along with it being playful and charming, you added a sense of your personality which made it fun to read. Definitely more understandable than a dry and ambiguous manual any day.

My only hitch is the “Master Class” theme (visually speaking). Obviously the TE manuals aren’t thorough enough, but I still refer to them because they’re visually engaging and appropriate for TE and the POs. When I think master class, I think of prestigious composers, lecturing with smoking pipes in some ivy league school, for that reason, it’s appropriate to use Times New Roman font throughout your books. But for me, it felt like required reading from a class rather than learning about the fun little POs.

Maybe you can boost up the satirical side of master class more and play it up with some fun visuals and diagrams? Forgive me if I’m reading to into it or understanding your main intent

Perhaps these images may back my rantings :)

haha sorry, feel free to dismiss these ideas.

Hi @Kites! Thanks for your reply. (sorry mine took so long  )

I totally get what you mean! It was my plan all along to have some illustrations, backgrounds, etc. to keep it a bit more “light reading”. But it turned out that creating “the perfect epub file” that could be read smoothly on iphone, ipad and android was very hard when it came to adding images. So I had to compromise and make it a bit more “boring” looking instead of having a lot of unviewable images.

I sure hope you got some good out of the book and not just a snooze

Cheers!

WOW just got my PO-16 Thursday and today got this book. I would be lost without it. Learned more from the first 2 pages than I did from trying to figure it out from the manual. Great work. Restored my faith in the little machine as well.

Hey MadeUpMonster. Good work. I had the same problem with the OP-1 Cookbook. Very difficult to get the book format right for multiple devices. I just did the iPad version of the iBook but have started working on ePub for multiple formats. Time is the issue right now in terms of finishing it

hey @madeupmonster

maybe that’s Interesting for a Bug Book Series.

Major Bug PO-14 Sub

Bought all three….that was a disappointment/mistake…cheap mistake at least… Couldn’t you have put all 3 together…They’re basically copy pastes of each other with the exception of effects section/mini drum machine parts.

Thanks for the guides. It got me up to speed so much faster than if I had relied only on the Teenage Engineering docs. It just made everything so much more fun. I appreciated being able to read them on my iPhone alongside my PO devices.

Aside: I hear the complaints about the books being copy/pastes of each other, but I still found these books invaluable for the price.
