Pocket Operator Modular 400 interface

Finally decided to take the plunge into hardware and looking at the (now much cheaper) Pocket Operator Modular 400.

I know I’ll eventually need an audio interface to get it’s output into my DAW, but was hoping to use it with headphones or a pair of powered speakers before I did that.

However, reading the documentation I see… “do not connect headphones directly… you can damage your headphones or much worse, your ears”

Is this really the case, or is it just an ‘excess of caution’? The (stereo) output is listed at 1.3Vpp.

you’re correct, the stereo output of the speaker module is made to put the “damaging” Euro signals into line level territory, so you’re safe to use to use it to feed your interface, PA etc.

just don’t directly connect to the outputs of any Analog module because it can deliver up to 8V (often 12v) and this current will blow your equipment.

Thanks Johnny.

On a lot of videos I see people using the Mixer ‘Out’ rather than the speaker one… What are these people doing with that line out?
