truth @jbl. His kids wanted iPods and got Zunes, naturally (and no iPhones, obviously). And as much as I like Apple, I support him. You don’t support a competitor. Though I can’t seem to verify it well, he’s now reported as being seen with an iPhone 5S >.> (pretty much a full-time philanthropist, now, anyway)

Bill Gates' list would read more like:

Electron Analog Rytm
DSi Prophet 12
Acidlab modular
iPad Air 128GB
OP-1 accessory bundle and OPLAB

Late to the party but there is no way bill gates would buy an ipad!

My list was a satire of an earlier list, in response to “Are you Bill Gates?”

I know. I read that list too. (^_−)−☆

Just traded a MicroBrute for a KP3 and $100 (transaction happened just 1 hr ago)

I was just gonna sell the brute, but the dude offered and I was like ‘fuckit’. Any of ya’ll rocking a Kaoss Pad? I guess I need to check out the manual and whatnot, but people’s experiences here would be most welcome

I dunno how much I’m gonna end up digging it, but who knows…

I have a Mini KP2 I rather like @Lawsod, though I don’t use it too often anymore.

I see the kaos pad more like an effects unit than a synth (mine is the mini KP 1).

The Kaossilator line is the synthy one, the Kaoss Pad line is for effects @Tribrix

Yeah, my understanding is that it might be useful for me as a live looper/effects mangler. I was always put off the Kaoss line for some inexplicable reason, but I was starting to really enjoy it last night. Hmmmmmmm…

yeah, pretty intrigued by the kaoss pads, since i’m … NO. I’ve just spent a wad of cash on music stuff.

Anyhoo, might want to check out some Jon Hopkins live (i.e. the Boiler Room one, I think), he makes good use of these.

I think one reason I’ve been put off is the name. Kaoss… K40ZZ… Tries too hard. I’m a snob.

I’ve for a Kaoss Pad Mini (older version) and it’s decent for adding effects to synths and beats - some nice sounds in there.

I had the Kaoss Quad Pad - which i think theyve discontinued - it is absolute sh*t with only a few presets and is more of a disco flashy lights unit for idiot DJ’s. So steer clear of that one.

The normal KPs are great though.

iam using kp 3 for live sampling the op1 and my mono tribe. splitted via stereo split into the mic input, clock sync from machinedrum.

this is the best set i’ve created so far because live sampling in time with a bunch of cool effects is really really not a brainkiller.

choose from bass to keys and from noise to sunshine. 4 slots to sample sounds into and with resampling you can put all 4 on 1 slot… so there are 3 slots free for doing the same and so on. its really cool to be limited!

if you don’t have enough money get the old kp 2 it has only 2 slots for sampling but it’s cheap and often in a good condition.

I love the KP3 and have two with two mini’s version 1.they are the same effects without the sample pads, motion sequence or drums /vocoder.The motion sequence is an excellent controller for external gear via midi and I look forward to modulating OP’s LFO using the iCM4+ .
There is a problem with the midi clock of KP3 and its sync with its sample loops- it drifts after a few minutes and is a problem if syncing loops with other sequencers for long jams but that has been my only problem with it and I have found a convaluted work round.it may not be a prob for others.
It is my favourite working method ,those loops and with 2 I can jam tracks live very quickly.Check Beardy Man on YouTube.
I was also originally skeptical ,but along with the KaOscillator they’re a brilliant design.

Brian Eno rates and uses them.

I’ve spent the last few hours, since getting home from work, jamming with it (and everything else).

It’s really quite fun and sounds pretty decent. It’s all about the live looping though, that feature has been implemented very well. I think I’m gonna get a lot of use from it.

Thanks for all of your feedback. Everyone is always so helpful here  I will definitely check out the video recommendations Josker.

Ya’ll are champs. Have a killer weekend!!

I got my OP1 today!
Nervous right to the last moment, but you all love yours so much it helped me keep faith.
Forget brilliant UI,sequencers,4track and sampler- that’s the best FM synth I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.

I could of bought 3 seperate modules for the same price ,but this is actually good value for money -plus the exceptional design.
Still in shock.

Enjoy! Won’t regret it, when youre sitting on your couch producing music…

Yes @mixrasta ,halfway through Saturday afternoon and I havnt got out of bed yet. There is a large music festival in my local park and I’m not sure I’ll get there…unless I leave with the OP.

Just got the OG iConnectmidi in. Operators, feel free to connect with me if you’re looking for one too. I got mine for $80, score!

Yes please @Kites ,can you post those details for this.

This is the iCM 1 right ?
Is it ok for jackin in straight without computer, a din midi device (or two) into OP and get midi both ways?
Also does it allow iOS into OP midi ?
