Speaking of acoustic instruments, I just picked up a banjo! The sound of it is amazing, and I am very patiently trying to teach myself how to play it properly. Gonna get into some mountain-style acoustic drones I need to get another melodica - I used to play one all of the time.
Ooo. I want a banjo so bad. But I seem to have little to no patience to teaching myself any instruments like that and I’ve forbidden myself from buying yet another guitar-ish thing that I know that I won’t play. Which is sad…
I almost bought a “banjo ukulele” recently to have that great pizzicato banjo sound in a smaller form I might actually learn, but ultimately passed on the idea.
I do have a couple of cigar box guitars which are fun as hell. 3 strings, all played by slide (strings too high to press down at all). A bit easier for me to play. And I love love love that slide sound. In a perfect world, I’d go back in time and get myself started on a pedal steel setup back when my brain was young and malleable and my attention span wasn’t quite so short. 
Yeah I have gone through a lot of attempts to try and learn different instruments, but usually do it impatiently because I want to jam right away, so I always end up with sloppy technique. I have made it my particular goal in this case to finally start from scratch with this banjo and learn the technique carefully and methodically. We’ll see how it goes!
Thanks @Callofthevoid and @el_wombato - I’ll try to dare to post a progress snippet, got a bit of a way to go before it sounds half decent though Good to hear other people’s acoustic experiments too. Banjo - nice one @wingo, good luck with the methodical learning. I’m also impatient, but determined to try to learn good habits from the start. From an impatience perspective, I was pretty happy that my teacher suggested there’s nothing wrong with picking up the sheet music for Bach’s cello suites as it’s good to have something challenging to work towards - didn’t take me long to make that amazon purchase, hehe. @jshell - those cigar box guitars look super cool, I always see them being sold at festivals and get super tempted when I see them - they look like fun

When I had one everything I played sounded ‘kind of’ like that, but not intentionally
I had really enjoyed playing one of my friends’ cello like a bass guitar… Could get really cool grooves quite quickly.
And very weird scales, as the strings are not tuned the same as a bass guitar !
I love this instrument.
I don’t know if you know Vincent Segal (he’s the cello in Bumcello, and one of the guys around -M-).
He made a few albums that show a more experimental side of the cello, with FX and all.
In his first solo album, “T-Bone Guarnerius” he only plays in duo with the people that counted in his musical carrer. It’s really one of a kind.

And plays well with OP1 I suspect?! I’ve got both too but not hooked them up yet.
Yeah, both midi send and receive work without any configuration. The default is MIDI both directions, which causes interesting (musical!) effects. But it’s easy enough to change the MIDI receive channel on both devices…

Bought Eventide H9 Max.. I bought it mainly for my guitar, but I think it will get a lot of use on my synths as well. Kinda struggling to find a way how to connect it properly with my mixerboard/interface.
