Got a Critter & Guitari Organelle last week. Great fun and very immediate. Also, knowing it runs on Linux makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. =)

And plays well with OP1 I suspect?! I’ve got both too but not hooked them up yet.

On paper this really sounds like a dreamy combo.

My new addition the Akai MPD218. I’ve already used it to sync up some original beats out of garage band into the Op1. Makes a big difference over smashing at a piece of glass.

The OP1! Should be here on Wednesday. I haven’t been this excited for new gear since I got my first electric guitar. I’ve even been getting my guitar chops back up just for the OP1.

Yeh that rainbow machine pedal never found a permanent spot on my board. Pretty niche pedal! Had it given to me and not sure it’s something I’d ever have kept hold of either if I’d bought it. Glad you managed to sell fast after not gelling with it :slight_smile:

@lyingdalai yep the lofi junky’s a nice fit :wink: I pulled that video after that quick jam I’d filmed turned in to something I’m gonna use :wink:

Yeah, both midi send and receive work without any configuration. The default is MIDI both directions, which causes interesting (musical!) effects. But it's easy enough to change the MIDI receive channel on both devices...

How about midi clock or song position? I have been on the fence for a while on the organelle. OP-Z waiting is growing tired.

Some of the patches support MIDI clock, and Pure Data has some libraries to support MIDI song position, but I haven’t seen any patches made or adapted for Organelle that have song position support built in. At the moment, there’s brilliant effects patches to route your audio through, and a lot of synths and samplers, often with simple built-in MIDI sequencers.

At the moment, Organelle’s strengths are in the audio mangling department I think, but it could go anywhere, depending on the community and what kinds of patches they make.

One advantage over Axoloti (to me at least!) is that people tend to share patches ready to play, and not components that you have to assemble together yourself.

Nice! Congrats :slight_smile: Interested in this one too… The new distortion/ui tweaks and the CV + separate outs seems like a great small footprint box to go with my AK (I love the synth but constantly run out of voices/tracks on it) and Dom1 (has a bunch of CV in/out… Be cool to finally dabble in modular kind of territory… AK has CV out but not in. Been too busy to check that out so far tho)… I’m equally as tempted to grab a mki and hold off for a bit tho… They’re going for under £600 on eBay atm :confused: but I have a feeling I’ll buckle and get the mkii on finance next month…
