More will power then me

Organelle + Microgranny up in this

2 years ago I wrote some love poems here about not ever selling my (2nd) OP.. but I did it again. I bought MPC live. I was deciding between OT and MPC.. I used to own OT therefore decided for MPC.. so far I'm not crazy about it.. I feel I need to spend more time with it to see if I want to keep it or whether to go back to OT.

Got an Alesis Wedge. It’s not bad, can get pretty dreamy. It’s quite fun to edit from the panel with those four sliders, but doesn’t sound quite as lush as a quadraverb or midiverb. Kinda feel like I’m just killing time until I can afford an Eventide Space.

Just bought a Dreadbox NYX synth. With it my my tiny, box-based modular system is slowly expanding (with the 0-Coast already in use I’ll have as many as 2 items in it  ). I’m especially thrilled by the fact that the NXY is paraphonic, can be set to unison mode and has a unique, high-quality reverb on board. The mod and patching options are also pretty promising.

I picked up a Zoom G1on the other day for 30 bucks and its been great. Running it post Op1 is nuts and its great for when i line in a guitar or bass obviously. I’m good at dialing in tone. I’m from the school of, there is no piece of gear that sounds inherently bad. It always comes down to your ear and your playing. Another big selling point for me was the fact that the g1on can be battery powered. SO if i want to goto the park or the woods and have a bunch of fx at my fingertips with my op1 and guitar, I can do so unbothered.

So you’re again OP-less? I’ll be honest with you. I have the OP-1 and the MPC Live. I love them both, but if both vanished tomorrow, it’d be the OP-1 I’d scramble to replace.

What kind of music do you lean toward? I execute some pretty precision hip hop on that OP.

Just ordered the Patchulator 8000.

A Digitakt and a few Euro modules : Numeric Repetitor, Sinclastic Empulatrix by Noise Engineering and the always useful Quad Attenuator by WMD/SSF.

Now to dig into the DIgitakt ! It’s my first Elektron box, I’m so happy

Avalon bassline

Arp 2600 and Analog Keys. Good combo.

an arp2600! very nice. that must have set you back a bit…cash-in a few bitcoins?

It’s my second time around with a 2600. I have regretted selling my first for many years. An opportunity to rectify my mistake recently presented itself and I couldn’t say no. But yeah, they don’t come cheaply. I won’t be buying much else for a long, long time.

Just purchased a MicroKorg XL±- AWESOME keybed. Feels really good. I also picked up a Make Noise 0 Coast but not sure I’m going to really integrate it. My setup seems definitive now and I will sell that-- maybe pick up some little Pocket Operators and a Circuit instead. It really never ends, does it?

Odyssey? Axxe? Solus? There were lots. I have an Odyssey that I’m working on right now - it’s my third Odyssey. The ARP sound is pretty great. The sliders don’t age well at all (I’ve spent hours and hours disassembling and cleaning ARP sliders. Ugh.) but otherwise, they are well built and fun to play with. Part of what makes them interesting is their long history and the changes they went through.

I got a Roland TR626 and a Moog Etherwave Theremin. The TR626 ist more straightforward. On the other hand the Theremin will be more fun on the long run (if I can manage to practice, learn and play this beast …)

Just got a K-Mix today. My current focus is to make recording easier. So next step is patch bays, a new computer, and Live 9/10.
