That big orange button is fantastic @darenager

@KrisM it is called Allocacoc Powercube remote extended (bit of a mouthful!) the remote does not use batteries, it just works from kinetic energy, pretty cool. So basically I have the cube fixed under the desk and a bunch of powerstrips snaking off to the gear, hit the button and BAM ready to rock

@Spheric_El Congrats man the OCTATRACK is amazing, and yes a bit deep and steep but it will reward you once you learn it, so flexible too.

yeah @darenager last few days i was looking for the line uo from them. especially the remote thing. and you can plug all modules together. cool man

@JohnnyEgo yeah highly recommended, nice design, practical and hassle free, bit pricey for a powerstrip but seems very good quality.

Yes, pretty cool indeed. I really like the design and the idea of this.

But I guess the cube consume a little bit of power while sleeping…
Why not use a good old stupid power strip with a switch ?

@LyingDalai Good point - the why is because the power switch is a bit inaccesable under a desk (and I am not as young as I wish/pretend!) I think the standby usage will be very minimal as they seem to be a bit eco friendly, although I did not check the spec for standy use. I don’t trust powerstrips with a manual switch as I have seen them arc before, plus the nerd in me can’t resist a big orange button

Yeah I get it, the magic button is pretty cool ^^

I really like the ones with the meters, as well. Monitoring the electric consumption is the very first step to consume less.

I did it again.

I bought something I had absolutely no need for.
I converted money in synth-to-be.
I got me a PreenFM2 DIY kit.

Building synths is so much fun
And Volca FM told me I had to dig deeper in FM synthesis.

@LyingDalai That’s a cool looking box. Is it deeper than the Volca FM? Can’t find a manual online.

@ghostly606 Xavier Hosxe is the guy that conceived the PreenFM (v1 and v2)

Here is the manual page but in fact there is more in the “Manual” menu of the site, on the header.
And yes, it’s a lot deeper than the Volca FM.
There is a filter layer for instance. Many many more CCs. A modulation matrix (2 free envelopes btw). I just can’t come up with a list ^^

You can’t operate it with batteries though

My Parva tracking number is finally searchable in the system but says it’s only in preshipment. Le sigh. Also signature confirmation, which means fuck my life I will not get it when they try to deliver unless it’s in Saturday or before I leave for work, or will have to go to the post office and face that nightmare lol. Soon, soon…

+1 very cool design.

Picked up this sweet little Teac meter bridge so I can see how much juice I’m sending to the compresssor.

Ahahah
Did you make it ?

Nope. I just bought it, it’s not even sent yet ^^
Haven’t found the bottom of the Volca FM, so it was not needed.
But I can’t resist to DIY French synths

I’m currently torn as to where to throw my tip money… Been eyeing the Volca FM and PO- Arcade. They seem vastly different in demos, maybe i’ll have to cop them both :stuck_out_tongue:

Got my Parva. Haven’t had a chance to listen to it. Initial impressions are great. Nice encoders on the left, quick moving pots on the right but don’t feel cheep. It’s a little taller than I expected for a module but I suppose it is stuffed with voice boards. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can plug it into the OP-1 or Octatrack and give it hell

Parva sounds really nice, but I only had it hooked up to a small bass amp combo. USB Host on board is great to have, was using the OP-1 to play it. It runs on 5V, so I could easily power it with a cell phone backup battery. Curious that everything analog I own runs on 12V, not 5V… Analog Keys, Pulse 2, MicroBrute, most of my Eurorack. Of course, it is 5V and 3A lol, so not just ANY cell phone battery. Actually, I don’t have one with a 5V 3A+ USB port now that I think about it >.>

But it feels nice to program, the matrix is quick and fast, oh, and don’t be mad but the pushbutton encoders do things >.>

And it came with FOUR PRESETS. That’s it. Four, and one is an init patch. The rest is blessedly empty.

I bought the new Death Grips album when it dropped like ten days ago.

Pretty dope, that album.

Gave the Radiohead one a brief listen and wasn’t a fan. Might need to grow on me.

And I was gonna buy a turntable but my savings aren’t where they should be right now so I’ll put that off until after my birthday next months.
