Post your latest purchase (audio related)

I was at a bit bored this morning and ended up reading up a bit more on Modular synths. Somehow i ended up buying a Black and Gold make Noise shared system.

Feeling a bit excited (and poor) though it won't be with me for a few weeks, hopefully before I go off on holidays.

Now I just have to work out how to fit it into my youtube channel kiddies videos :)

Nice! 50/50 on you cancelling the holiday

Stop saying that!! Still contemplating getting one... But I'm 100% satisfied with the OP.. So why why why???
OP-1 is pretty cool to feed the OT. But OT is a beast when it comes to play loops and mess with samples & external gear.
And you definitely dig loops and samples ;)

Ahaha @lefilou you've been spotted, there's no way to trick yourself : you know you'll end with one sooner or later !
And this day you'll tell yourself : why the wait ?

If it's not a matter of money, then go for it. If money is the matter, then save for it.
And get to the next level !
:D

Just snagged the last OTO Biscuit from Big City Music. I waffled over the decision for weeks… but as soon as I saw it was the last one available, I could resist no longer. Pretty excited to try it out, both as an effect and as a synth!

@lyingdalai thanks for that  i need to watch more OT-only live videos. I’d love a one-stop machine which has swing. The Op-1 has that but I find it limiting in terms of structure and transitions for live use, when jumping between loops with diff Bpm.

I watched Tarrekith’s live vid “two by three” (I think) and was impressed by the way he mixed loops seamlessly which fits his binairy tech style. Not sure how that would sound with more drumbreak sliced and sampling based music like mine.

@lefilou as long as you’re loop-oriented, OT is your tool.

For non-loop-oriented music it can be used as well, but it’s not as convenient.

Feel free to drop me a mail (lying.dalai / gmail) if you need to discuss it in details (and in French ^^)

@lefilou ,they seem like a good pair.Complimenting.
OT feels lacking in sidechain an cross modulation, with weirdness fx like freq shifters…enter the element lfo an CWO or amp env. Perfect. Plus no poly on ot samples.
But loads of post editing and sockets.

@HisMostDarxxxellent ,taking for granted for sure, nice to remind not to
(life thought too).
Paul…good source .On vinyl ,very nice. Will check, and great sentiment.
I still remember your suggestion for mastering  very good …if I can get around to it.

@Zzzach not much hardware left on my GAS list ,but that…yes.

Just picked up a Mopho SE. Recording it into the OP-1 with the new os has been great. Perfect loops with no pops.

Played really nicely @Bradley .

Bought a Prophet '08. It’s a bit unfashionable at the moment, but a lot of analog power in a single device. Have been using the OP-1 as an effects box. Anyone have good spring reverb settings for ambient work?

Oh.I thought that was you lol

Oh.I thought that was you lol

Hahahaha… thumbs up on the funny conversation.

The modular shit never ends…ok gear lust in general never ends.

Just received a Mutable Instruments Warps and a Moog Mother-32. Whimsical Raps Just Friends is on the way. Halp me.

#tumble2k spring?..
Turn it all up ,turns and mix ,but drop tone and damp. I like that for drum/percussive noise ,but pads then maybe a delay will be better.keeps it cleaner ,sounds better.Or less turns ,more blue/white with spring.

Grid for ambient?

Thanks @Spheric_El, I’ll try out your settings.

@ghostly606: What settings on Grid do you like to use? I can’t seem to wrap my brain around Grid. It seems only capable of making metallic sounds.

Got this great little hardware arpeggiator super cheap and lots of fun - tons of functionality.

Also got this addition for it which should sync the Pocket Operators up to my Midi (will build it and give it a try at the weekend)

ARPIE

Finally got myself a Strymon El Capistan. It seems El Cap + OP1 is the winning combo, I’ve seen lots of users here have it.

@pianobar certainly seems that way. Some really cool youtubes with that combo. I wonder how an OT would fit in that combo? Ill stop now giving myself seriously bad GAS

Op-1 and OT are like eating Swedish meatballs with lingonberry preserves @hindsite - just as IKEA intended >.> tag the el capistan off the cue outputs and back into a set of inputs and it must only be “dayum”
