Hi all, I am learning the workflow for arranger mode on the OP XY and wanted to find out if it is possible to assign different presets for synth and drum kits to different scenes? For example, in scenes 1-3, I want a bass synth and 909 drum set but in scenes 4-6, I want to assign a different synth and drum kit. If this is possible, how would I configure it on the OP XY? Second, can you assign different FX to scenes? Like in scenes 1-3, I want delay/reverb but in scenes 4-6, I want lo fi and phaser. I can setup different mute groups and patterns but so far not able to do these two items with scenes for different synth/drum kits and fx assignments. Also what are the different bars above and below for per scene?
Yes, both are possible if you work with different pattens. so if you make a new scene and want the sound to eb changed, you need to create a new pattern for this. And then you can simple chaneg the synth engine or FX … its actually super easy.
I tried this but it applies the new synth and drum presets to all scenes.
Let me give you a short walkthrough of how I do it. Maybe this will do the trick. I’ll start from scratch.
- I start a new song.
- the I go to (e.g) Synth 3 and create a basic sequence (pattern).
- Then I go to the Arranger, copy (M2) the pattern, create a new pattern (M1), and paste the old pattern into it (M3).
- Next, I go back to Synth 3 and change the sound.
- Then I return to the Arranger, where I now have two patterns for Synth 3.
- I create a new scene (Scene 2) and assign the first pattern to Scene 1 and the second pattern to Scene 2.
- That’s it, and this works for me.
