I’m just wondering what’s the meaning of simple sampler instrument next to multisampler. My understanding is that multisampler has all functionalities the sampler has but it can also support multiple samples through multiple ranges. So a sampler can be created with multisampler using a single sample across the whole key range. Or did I miss something?
It’s a good point. I don’t believe the sampler engine has any advantages over multisampler, except perhaps simplicity.
No you didn’t miss something. I’ve only used the sampler at the moment as I mainly use it for one shot bass or lead synth samples.
I’m sure I’ll try the multi-sampler at some point though.
I use the sampler rather than multisampler as multisampler doesn’t record at the pitch I started with - also I can get many more samples per key !
What do you mean when you say more samples per key?
With the sampler option you can assign a sample to each key whereas the multisampler max 4 per octave
The sampler supports a single sample and pitches it through all the keys. I can’t recall such 4 per octave limitation on multisampler (it is just recommended).
Is that something it reccomends in the manual?
The multisampler can definitely have a sample per key (i just made sure)
