Rename User Samples in OP-Z

Hello!

Does anyone know a way to rename user samples to whatever name, so that it is easier to know what is what, since when you sample something the OP-Z gives the patch a name such as User2019393939.

Tried a quick search here already, apologies if double posted.

Cheers
Funkee

Have you tried connecting it to a computer and edit the sample file names? Whenever I’ve imported sample files from OP1.fun, the files keep their original name in the OP-Z (i.e. I can se that they are named “Wurlitzer” and such when I’m using the OP-Z with the iPad).

I don’t think it’s possible to edit the name within the OP-Z or the app. Would make for a neat update though.

Not sure if you already solved this but I was trying to figure out the same thing.

Here’s how I do it:

  • Mount op-z in content-mode to computer
  • Browse to the aif file and rename. The first letter and last two letters/numbers matter the most.
E.g.: greatsample02 will be truncated to G02 in the app configurator screen. Full name will be shown in main screen.
  • Unmount op-z (and in some cases, press the play button to force it out of content mode)
  • Link to app. Now you should see your sample named correctly.

Hope this works for you.
