Hi all, has anyone moved to the XY buy uses the OP-Z still for video and lighting control? Or has anyone ventured into trying to replicate those functions with say an AI authored App?
I don’t have an XY, but was thinking about this the other day. I’ve been using the OP-Z as an iPad controller a lot lately, and I realized, there are a lot of video and lighting apps out there. With the OP-XY (and the Z), you could literally have your XY connected to an iPad for performance, which you could have hooked up to a dummy Apple TV and you’d get solid and easy control of visuals that should work pretty smoothly at any venue. I haven’t used Zedirol, but I’m planning on trying that with an Apple TV for a performance soon.
Using a lighting app (photon 2 for instance) and a enttec USB-DMX box, you should just be able to map out a track or two on the XY for some decent lighting control, though it seems the DMX track on the Z does have some built in stuff. I really haven’t gotten to use it much as I only have two DMX lights.
Thanks for the reply. And yes it’s a valid suggestion to simply use other video or image Apps and DMX ones as well. I guess I need fo look further into the OPXY and tracks for controlling external devices (your point as well). I would think instead of an Apple TV I would just use the HDMI out of a hub. Unless you were referring to specific Apps on ATV?
