do you really think this is a fair price? 89$
It rally is just a tiny thing with only a few moving parts and the po 33 seems like so much more engineering and design, idk.
I would have def gotten one if they were around 39$ but 90$ for a little thing that vibrates seems like a huge stretch, given what TE also has for sale at this price.
I almost bought one the other day, thought it might be a nice xmas gift to myself, ha
Well, the rumble is a cooperation between TE and lofelt haptics, who are specialised in making audio-haptic gear. Itās a bit more than just some moving parts and itās not just vibrating somehow, but in a way extends what you hear by making you feel it. Nothing your phone could for example do.
Of course itās not a typical bargain, but you get a piece of interesting technology, which has not been integrated in an instrument before. Right now I would pay extra money for each and every synth that would come with that technology, since itās very satisfying to feel it. It gives you the feel of an acoustic instrument that reacts to how itās played.
On the other hand: yes, it does not improve the (musical) functionality of the op-z. So itās not for everyone.
You should be the spokesperson you just made a better claim for its validity than iāve ever heard before
Fact: you canāt unrumble.
TE and fair price dont go hand in hand, but it is worth having and don
t regret buying it. Bought it for xmas pressie to meā¦beats the socks i was gifted by my tight so-called loved ones:)
Just letting you guys know I had my OP-Z with rumble pack on level 2 of 4 on my desk in my studio, my legs were against the table legs and the entire table was rumbling. I could feel it throughout my legs and through my feet to the floor. This thing rocks especially if you donāt have a woofer, oh but if you do happen to have a sub and put these two together, resonance is magically delightful!
Another cool thing: I often like messing around with the OP-Z while sitting on my bed for comfort. If I have it just sitting on the bed in front of me, I can easily feel the low end translating through the mattress with the rumble pack.
I think itās really cool and makes the OP-Z an even more unique device.
As far as utility goes, I think the silent metronome and the haptic feedback of bass frequencies adds quite a lot. The silent metronome is very usefull while transitioning from or playing around with patterns that donāt have any percussive tracks running.
And haptic feedback helps with mixing. A constant rumble means your mix will sound muddy in loudspeakers, while solid pumping indicates a tighter mix. Thatās quite useful when youāre making music in a noisy place such as on the bus or in a cafĆ©.
So all in all I think itās a solid addition even if you donāt typically hand-hold your unit. But of course, if your mixing skills are superior to mine (which they probably are) and your internal metronome runs like an atomic clock, Iād say youāll probably end up think of it more as a gimmick than as a tool. Itās a very cool one at that though.
