Sending in OP-1 for non-warranty service

Anyone ever have to do this? If so, what has your experience been like? Turn around time? Cost?

I’m about to send mine off to the US service center in Georgia due to bricking my OP-1 during the firmware upgrade from 218 to 225.

More here on the bricking here: https://www.operator-1.com/index.php?p=/discussion/3553/should-we-upgrade-from-218-to-225#latest

Hey, how did you manage to arrange an RMA? Did you just email support?

My OP-1 is bricked and I don’t know what to do: I’ve emailed the support but they’re being super slow in responding and since it’s a second hand out of warranty OP-1 I don’t know what to do. It’s the same issue as this thread https://www.operator-1.com/index.php?p=/discussion/2860/op-1-update-freeze

Couple of weeks for the actual repair. Took a few days for them to get back to me after filling out the form on the website. Given how busy they are with the OP-Z I wouldn’t expect a fast response, unfortunately

Not sure about cost - it was a somewhere around $100 to get a defective key fixed. The unit was out of warranty.

I just wrote to support@teenageengineering.com, told them what was going on, and received an RMA after a little back and forth. They received my OP-1 a week ago and I haven’t heard anything back which gives me pause. I don’t care if they’re putting a man on Mars, they should be a little quicker on the uptake, OP-Z or not.
