Smoothly Enable Master Effects

Is there an easy way to smoothly enable and transition between master effects for live play?

When I first turn the effect on, or select a different effect, the sound is dramatically altered. I’d like a way to gradually enable them, or to switch between effects gradually on master.

Is there a way to accomplish this? If not, how do you work around this while using the effects when playing live?

You could use the M1 and M2 buttons with activated but “muted” master FX (like input volume turned down). Then you smoothly increase the input volume via the encoders. The downside is that you have to hold down the M-buttons the whole time you want the FX activated.

Or simply use an external multi FX unit e.g. a Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2.

No, if you mean something built-in that can be found and used. You could optimise or plan your arrangement to work around this limitation. Or work around it by a technique of your choice, like the one @motone describes above. You could also leave time to dial down your effect, then switch to another. Or switch in places where the lack of transition isn’t jarring - strong beats, etc.
