Just finished a sequenced, ambient track on the op-1: “Snowfall”. https://m.soundcloud.com/joshua-stefane/snowfall
All the composition was on the op-1, but I ran the audio through a DSI Evolver and several effects pedals for added depth. I’m still new at using the op-1, so I’d be grateful for any feedback!
@tetsugakusha Really good track, very atmospheric. I like the gentle melody against the more brash string sounds - its easy to imagine this working very well as a soundtrack to something.
Very nice indeed!

I'm pretty happy with how this one turned and indeed i had thought out it playing to a scene of trains moving in the snow or some such lonely goodness.
Very nice indeed!Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to listen.
Just listened to your track while looking at this thru the kitchen window at 6:30 am.
Perfect music for slow mornings. Love it.
Beautiful, and very filmic.

That’s a beautiful scene. It’s wonderful to know that my music was a small part of it. Thank you so much for the comment!

That’s really kind of you to say.
Very nice! Maybe we need an ambient battle next time!

That makes a lot of sense to me, really comes through well on your track!

Thanks Sparky! Yeah, an ambient battle is a great idea. Perhaps I’ll start a discussion page in the near future…
I dug it. The sounds, the production quality, the ebb and flow, and even wish it was longer. I’m often the same way when I work on ambient, some story is usually flowing along in my head as I arrange everything.
Noticing a lot more ambient pieces showing up here which is great. The OP-1 is excellent for it in a lot of ways. Experimental sequencers and unusual synth engines and effects, recording and sampling and resampling.
But I digress.
Great stuff! I am amazed at the sounds the OP-1 can facilitate. I am all for an ambient battle, but would be better is a playlist of curated ambient tracks from the Operator community.
Ever hear “Snowfall” by Claude Thornhill? Similarly beautiful.
