Some breaking Op-Z news!

Wonder how the CV connectivity would work. There’s only 2 connectors listed on TE’s site - USB and 3.5 mm jack. Would you need an Oplab to interface it with CV gear.

Sweetwater page does not actually show a price, but might as well assume it’s $600 until stated otherwise. The more one hangs on to the $300 dream, the worse the heartbreak will be when reality intrudes

^ There is no info whatsoever on the 4 yellow “things” at the back, but my guess is that they are some sort of universal proprietary connector where you would plug adapters (sold separatelly?) for each possible interface, like CV, DMX, MIDI…

Looking at https://teenage.engineering/products/op-z_preview, the “things” at the back are not yellow any longer – they look more like buttons now? The image has them labeled “pattern”, “track mixer”, “tempo” and “screen”. So just extra buttons?

So all the wiring goes out via the 3.5mm port and the USB-C port.

Those are buttons. The “yellow things” were to the right of those. 4 of them. Speaking from the early prototype I laid hands on at NAMM 2016.

The 4 buttons were always there. The yellow “things” are closer to the center:

Sorry people! My memory failed me.

Punji is probably right, you will use break out cables on the yellow holes, midi and CV control has been confirmed which is necessary to use the Op-Z as a sequencer for your gear.

By the way the release date seems to be June in Europe at the moment.

The yellow “things” are still there on todays TE instagram post
