Step component per pattern/sequences

Hi all!,

I own an OPXY since 2 weeks. I start to know it well but there are some things I still don’t understand well with parameters lock:

1/ I just create several sequences. When I record a step component on one sequence, it is written on all others sequences, even when it’s a different pattern. How can I record a step component specific for a pattern and sequence only?

2/ is there a difference between recording a step component in the track I want or in the specific punch in fx track?, cause when I record in a normal track, it appear in the punch in fx track too!.

Thanks!

If you want to record the step component on a single track , you need to stay on the track where you want add the SC , keep press shift and play on the keabord. The recorded SC wiil be recorded on the SC track but on a different octave (each octave is mapped on a specific track)

P.s. if your instrument track has a different length, i suggest to adjust also the length on the SC track

Thanks, the problem is that the SC appear on all other pattern and sequence of the track. Is it possible to make a pattern with a SC recorded, and another pattern without?

I think you are confusing Step Components with Punch In Effects. Step Components are added when the sequencer is not running - hold the step you want, press and hold shift, select the Step Component you want and the ‘sub-parameter’ associated with the specific Step Component.

Punch In Effects are applied when the sequencer is running - the pictograms on the keys correspond to the Step Components not the Punch In Effects.

Oh yes, you’re right Mesoboy!. I red again the manual and it’s clear now, thanks to both of you

Jaq, i understand your answer now.

In fact, I was recording a punch in fx in the aux track. And each time I was creating a new sequence, the punch in track was duplicated too (as it supposed to).

The thing, it was confusing to me, is that I recorded punch in fx while I was in an instrument track (so for me it was recorded in the track itself). But now I understand the concept!, and what are the step component too! ahahah thanks again
