Ah now would be a good idea. Maybe it could also act kind of like a dongle, in that once connect to the OP-1F it allowed 4 tracks to be recorded at the same time. The OP having extra functions once connected to it.
Obviously said hardware would have to have 4 stereo inputs. The possibilities are endless.
sorry for the shameless plug – you might dig this track i did all on the op1f wherein i recorded my archtop jazz guitar in with the cm15. this was the first time i ever recorded with the cm15 and so it didn’t turn out as good as it could have - ive learned a lot since then
but the reason im sharing is bc i read you hadn’t done much guitar into the op1f and this shows a least in some sense how well guitar could be incorporated into a track
Nice work. The guitar came through quite well and the piece is quite unique and musical. I am so tempted to respond the way I see in guitar forums “Sp, did you record direct in or with a mic?”. But I wouldn’t do that here. What I mean is that no matter how clearly you state how you recorded the guitar, somebody will invariably ask such questions. I haven’t seen that around here, fortunately.
That’s got a nice chilled vibe to it Chris. Well balanced mix which sounds great on my headphones. Definitely a track to chill to whilst having a drink in the sun.
@tbeltrans and @RoyB thank you guys for checking it out and for the kind words! really appreciate it. my basic approach to everything i do on the op1f is to try to get the guitar in somehow someway even if its not the main focus. sometimes acoustic via mic or sometimes electric as line in.
i find that with my electric guitar i actually can just plug it directly into the op1f without anything else in the chain and it sounds great. i do add a bit of gain and FX on the op1f, but it sounds great. i used a telecaster on the first track “Meltdown” on my album here:
literally a cable from guitar directly into op1f, with a bit of the Phone effect and i think the Nitro too IIRC
