When playing “live” ino the OP-XY, I would like to be able to plug in a sustain pedal somewhere. Is that possible? I am not concerned about the typical 1/4" plug on the sustain pedal because I can easily get a converter to 3/8".
I suppose if this can’t be done, I could use my Arturia Keystep 37 with a sustain pedal instead and just use the OP-XY’s midi in connection.
Thanks for any other ideas.
Also curious. I have the loopop gizmo thingy but no idea how to connect. Thought about a 1/4 to 1/8 TRRS (?!) into the XYs MIDI-in, but only own mono guitar 1/4 cables and using stereo 1/4 to 1/8 audio adapters hasn’t helped.
Yes, the sustain pedal is a simple on/off switch and therefore it is up to the OP-XY to accept that and utilize it to create the sustain. That is why I said in my post that either this is done in the OP-XY or one would have to use an external device such as a keyboard with a sustain pedal plugged into it to translate that on/off action into a midi message that the OP-XY can then understand. I did see a video recently demonstrating that the OP-XY can respond to such midi messages.
My post was asking if anybody had yet tried connecting a sustain pedal directly to the OP-XY and successfully accomplished sustain. It is certainly possible that somewhere in the OP-XY there could be a setup parameter that allows this just as the OP-XY can enable local velocity.
