I got a simple song started on the OP-1. Recorded a melody line that’s slightly delayed. I think the term is swung. My music education is failing me.
Recreating the same melody on the OP-XY, of course it doesn’t sound the same cuz it’s mapping to the sequencer.
I know there’s settings I can get into on the OP-XY to match the feel of the OP-1. Can someone remind me what the term is, or where it is in the menus?
Turn quantise down to zero or near zero. 100% will make your notes/beat rigid, to the grid. Turning it down to near zero will make it closer to what you played.
See section 7.4 of the manual for info on quantize
BTW, I’ve not listened to your track as I’m not able to at the moment.
Hi RoyB, thanks for the response. I think that’s exactly what I’m looking for so I’ll give it a go. No worries about not listening, I think you pretty well understand the issue. Have a good day!
I’d recommend the synthdawg OP-XY Notebook and cheat sheet from synthdawg.co.uk
I’ve bought 3 of his guides and they are all great. There should be a forum topic about his guide on this site. I’m not affiliated to him btw, just a fan of his very reasonably priced guides.
