Tape Mode - No Sound

I've found that I can hear no sound when switching to tape mode. Sounds fine in synth or drum mode, but no sound output when I switch to tape. The orange meter shows signal. This is only happening to Track 1. Am I missing something simple?

Go to mixer. Turn up track 1.
