That Op Z battery might not be dead, but hibernating!

I found an article while searching for battery replacement for my new used OP Z. As many of you know that’s a touchy subject with little help from TE.
That dead battery you have might just need a kick start and it will commence to charge properly and return to active duty!
Take a 5 volt dc source, stripped usb charging cable in my case, and hold the lead to the +/-, observing proper polarity, for approx 15 seconds!
That’s it!
Place the battery back in the case and a charge indication should appear. Mine was fully recharged in 90 mins.
Hope this helps.

i tried this and it didn’t work on the used OP-Z i got; however, what worked was to put the battery in a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer for 6 hours, then charged it with a small block Apple USB-C charger.

Nice, I didn’t know the freezer trick.
I’m always practicing and encouraging hacking (in it’s primary meaning).

But just remember: Lithium batteries can be dangerous, explode or take fire.

So, when waking it up with manual current source applied, low current, low voltage, stay with your battery and disconnect it right away if it gets warm, inflates, etc.
Don’t leave it alone while connected!

The battery voltage should not go over 4,2V.
So 5V USB is ok as long as the voltage lowers when connected to the battery.

The best way however, would be one of these RC chargers with many options to revive batteries.

Happy hacking!
